What makes this pairing so precious is more than just gratuitous fan-shipping. It's taking two people who on their own were mentally/emotionally screwed up to the nth degree and having them find happiness in making something priceless together. Not just a cute couple but a FAMILY. Not just an heir but a DAUGHTER raised by two loving parents. A truckload of diamonds can't replace the value of those two things.
To put it *mildly* this beats the crap out of what they were- of a witch-thief locked in a pointless* cat-and-mouse struggle with a bitter old miser over a treasure that didn't make anyone happier.
